Seiko Kinoshita

I have exhibited my works widely at Galleries & Museums and produced public arts such as Sheffield Central Library, NHS Hospitals and The Silk Mill, Derby.  My collaborative work with scientist Dr Nate Adams, METABOLON: changing perceptions is touring nationally from 2018 until 2020.

METABOLON, 2018, Tracing paper, steel, programmed led lights, acrylic rod, wood

I started as a textile artist creating installations, however my technique has broadened in recent years; I enjoy exploring other materials such as metal, wood, acrylic and sound based work with textile sensibility. I also work collaboratively with other professionals to challenge something new and achieve unique artwork.

My practice often explores the question of how traditional methods & craft techniques influence within the contemporary art arena. I also enjoy working on a site specific project to research and explore the history of architecture and its physical space.
